Adding value to the Wetlands Alliance through cross-province learning

A study tour was organized to facilitate the sharing of knowledge and experience between communities within Stung Treng RAMSAR site and the community fisheries from Kratie province, Cambodia.

The sharing of experiences between communities is a platform for increasing knowledge and strengthening networks amongst Wetlands Alliance partners. With support from The WorldFish Center and facilitated by Community Economic Development (CED), Culture and Environment Preservation Association (CEPA) and Stung Treng Provincial Fishery Cantonment (FiAC) organized the study tour for 15 persons, including 3 women from Kratie province.

The objective of the tour was to share experience about community-saving schemes, community fisheries, small scale aquaculture ponds and deep pool co-management.

This event started on December 19th to 21st, 2011, and the field visit was divided into 2 sessions, the morning at Kamphon village, Kamphon commune, Sesan district, and in the afternoon at Koh Khorndin village, Sangkat Samaki, Stung Treng town, Stung Treng Province.
